My Favorite Things: KUT from the Kloth Corduroy Jeans

I have something to share with you.

I must give credit where credit is due.  I follow another blog by another Dallas area mom and Sheaffer highlighted a great pair of corduroy jeans in her Black Friday Nordstrom Sale post.  I first visited her blog Sheaffer Told Me To on the recommendation of a friend and now I get great ideas and sale notifications all the time(see my post on the maxi dress and jean jacket!).

kutfromklothcord2Anyway, back to the corduroys.  I am always looking for a comfortable pant that I can wear to work or on the weekend that is not a true denim.  Something that I can get in multiple colors to add some fun to my very plain, mostly black wardrobe.  I had never worn KUT from the Kloth but they have become one of my new favorite things.  They are not too high or too low, have three belt loops in the back and have a great stretch.  Plus during the sale Sheaffer highlighted, I got two pairs for less than $35 each.  Now that the cold weather has hit dallas, I may need to get a third pair since they are still on sale on Nordstrom.com.  The biggest decision is what color to get!

Reward Yourself!

I have something to share with you.

I recently mentioned  I have some fashion challenges.  I cannot put outfits together if color and patterns are present.  Accessories?  I try and sometimes I do ok.  My new favorite outfit(Thanks to Sheaffer at SHEAFFER TOLD ME TO for posting about Basics!)- a long, black dress from the Gap(online), a jean jacket from Nordstrom(Two by Vince Camuto), a statement necklace(Kendra Scott Kinley in Black and Gold) and a pair of flat sandals. Easy!

After my recent jean jacket purchase, I realized I am at Nordstrom and Rack A LOT.  And there is a good reason. Every time I shop at Nordstrom I am asked about a credit card and every time I say no.  But I did enroll in Debut Rewards.  So let me explain a bit more.   You get 1 Debut Rewards point per net dollar spent at participating Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack stores and you do not have to get a new credit or debit card.  Keep in mind it is only available at certain stores and doesn’t apply to online purchases(yet) but all you have to do is earn 2,000 points and you get a $20 Nordstrom Note.  Easy, right?  So what are you waiting for?

ISO – fabulous eye cream

I have something to share with you.

eyecreamI am in search of the perfect eye cream.  I need something for firmness(getting some bags), dark circles(5 hours of sleep is a luxury), wrinkles(yup, those too) and overall anti-aging(yes, I am now 40).   If you have read any of my other Beauty posts, you know I have been on the search during the past year for a new moisturizer and night cream, a gentle face wash, anti-aging treatments and whether the Clarisonic was as special as I hear.

So, do I go to beauty store like Sephora or Ulta or do I head to Nordstroms, Macy’s or a local department store beauty counter and ask for “advice” there?  What eye cream do you use?

I decided to ask some friends those questions…..some like the beauty store route because the team works with all the product lines and don’t normally push one specific line, they offer a frequent shopper program, and you can always find them all over the country for a just in case moment.  Others liked the department store route since they could accomplish more than just shopping for beauty products(think clothes, shoes and kid stuff) and once they found a line or three that they loved, they had a relationship with a knowledgeable sales person that could help them with purchases and let them know about upcoming special deals.  The most interesting answer…many of them don’t use eye cream at all.

So please help.  Leave a comment for me on your favorite eye cream and let me know where you shop!

Did you share your wishlist?

I have something to share with you.

Nordstrom WishlistIn our house, I found an easy way to make sure my husband knows what to buy me for the important holidays(you know birthdays, Hanukkah, a random Friday)…I have a Nordstrom wishlist. And all he has to do is go to one store or online to find me the perfect gift.

Please tell me you know about this…..find an item you like, add it to your wishlist and you are done. The only big decision you need to make is if you want to keep your wishlist private and give your spouse/partner access to your account(meaning login info) or make your wishlist public(so anyone can find it and buy something for you).

My friend recently shared with me a blog she follows called Sheaffer Told me To.  It was started by Sheaffer, a Dallas mom, who posts pictures and reviews of clothes, shoes, jewelry, you name it.  Plus she spends A LOT of time at Nordstrom, so I can see what is new, what is on sale, and she includes links to other mom blogs. (Another good one – Check out “Mix and Match Mama” – Shay posts some great recipes!) Anyway, since I shop at Nordstrom more than I should, this was a great find for me.

How much easier can it really be to get the perfect gift?
