Our Favorite Things – A Personalized Gift

We have something to share with you.

I knew teacher appreciation week was coming up and then we received another Evite for a birthday party.  I cannot keep up with whether 9 and 10-year-old girls like Shopkins, LOL dolls, or if a gift card to Target or Justice is the better option.

Mom told me it was time to go shopping and I was not excited. Walking around from store to store is BORING.  But then mom had an idea – we could buy really soft blankets like the ones we have and put their names on it!  So we headed to Kohl’s and picked up a few of our favorite things – The Big One Supersoft Plush Throw.  They offer lots of colors and patterns that my friends would love.

AND they go on sale which makes the price of the blanket and the personalization a great deal!  We are lucky to have this AMAZING neighbor that does embroidery so we can send her a quick message and get items super quick.  Plus, who doesn’t love a super soft blanket to curl up with on the couch!

Warmer Weather Best Buy:  Kohl’s- The Big One Beach Towel

I have something to share with you.

We ate by the pool last night.  And I am hoping that warmer weather is here to stay.

Every summer we get ready to go to a pool party or to have people over at our house and I rummage through a big mix of random beach towels, all different colors and sizes.  I finally saw an ad for beach towels on sale at Kohl’s.  They retail for $26.99 but are often on sale, sometimes at $8.99, sometimes as an early morning $5 special buy.

What a deal!  They come in a variety of colors and designs, are reversible, oversized which means big enough for all the men in your family and are soft, not like many of the other beach towels you get for under $10.

My best advice- find a coupon online or stay up to date on their sales, visit Kohl’s and stock up for your next pool party!

Your Doll Needs Pajamas Too?

I have something to share with you.

We gave in and bought our daughter an American Girl doll a couple of years ago.  She has asked for a sister for “Leila” but I keep saying no.  Not only are the dolls(and all the accessories) expensive, but she doesn’t play with the doll all that much.  Lately, Leila has been around more and during a recent shopping trip for pajamas, my daughter said Leila needed new pajamas too.

matchingpjsI buy my pajamas at Kohl’s and lucky for me, they had three pairs of girls pajamas on sale that came with…….Ready?   Matching Doll Pajamas!  No trip needed to the American Girl Store.  And no need for me to find a matching nightshirt.  I could use my Kohl’s coupon codes and get Kohl’s cash from the 4 new nightgowns both she and Leila now have.  Considering one of them will grow out of the nightgown by summer, this was a great deal!

What do you wear to bed?

I have something to share with you!

Before you get too excited, this post is not going where you think.  Recently a friend of mine had a “closet consultant” come in and update her wardrobe and one of the items on the list was lounge and sleepwear.  She was informed that you should no longer be wearing old college t-shirts to bed in your 30’s.  The advice: wear something age appropriate while still looking “cute”.

I still have a few favorite t-shirts from my 20’s but I started buying new sleepwear a few years back after my sister-in-law bought me the most wonderful pair of pajamas from GapBody.  They were so soft, all black(slimming!), and super comfortable.

So I decided to clean out my closet and find some more super soft items for bedtime.  I didn’t want to spend too much money on high end fabrics since I wasn’t even going to be awake to appreciate it.  So, I headed back to the Gap and found something new.  And then I happened to be at Kohl’s.

Vera Wang makes fabulous pajamas!  I know, sometimes the more affordable items from the high end designers are not that great.  But, she has quite a few options at Kohls’s that look cute and are very affordable, especially during the numerous sales they run.  So I ask again, what will you be wearing to bed tonight?
