I have something to share with you.
I try to go paperless. I do A LOT via my phone and iPad and all the various apps but there are two reasons that I must have paper. One is my to-do list. I love the satisfaction of marking something off the list when it FINALLY gets done. The other is my grocery list. I tried numerous apps and it just wasn’t working. My husband could access the app but I could not print the list. He had no access but I could create a list and sort by item type. Nope, not going to work. I needed something that had the different sections of the store and a running list of all the things I buy. So I did an audit….on my kitchen.
First the pantry, then the frig and then the freezer. And I typed all the items that I buy on an ongoing basis and saved it. Added a line for a check box, converted to PDF and uploaded to Dropbox. My own personal grocery list. Did my friends think this was crazy? Yes. But a couple joked about having me come to their house!
My husband’s friend happened to see it on our counter during a visit and made my day. He does the grocery shopping at his house and said this was GENIUS!!!(Thanks Mark!) One list, all organized, just check the line and you are done.
Every week I print one out. I plan the weekly menu on the back. My husband and daughter can both add items to the list as we run out of things or if there is something they need. And on Sunday, when I am ready to go to the store, I know what to buy and what I am cooking for the entire week! Yes, I found a few items I missed but super easy to add them to the list. Finally a reason to smile about food shopping!
