On the Road Eats: Houston

I have something to share with you.

I jumped on a flight to Houston for a couple meetings and had 90 minutes to grab lunch in between meetings.  Where should I go in the galleria area, after all there are so many good choices?  Peska.  New to me, good reviews, saw it on Eater Houston.

Peska
It’s a fish market but it’s a restaurant.  They have locations in Acapulco, Mexico City, Houston and it was mentioned to me possibly Dallas in the future.  They had a great lunch option- $25 for an appetizer, soup or salad and an entrée.  I receive per diem when I travel so I often will splurge on a great lunch and go light on dinner.  (Due to weather, dinner that night was at the bar at the Hobby Airport- Pappadeux restaurant)  The server recommended the shrimp cocktail, a mexican shrimp cocktail with amazing flavor and it was super refreshing in the 90 degree heat.  For the entrée, I tried something new.  Fideo Seco.  It’s a mexican pasta dish in a light sauce with calamari, shrimp, clams and mussels.  Now I admit, it was hard to eat and I had to work a little bit to remove the shells from the shrimp BUT this dish was wonderful.  Now I need to find a restaurant in Dallas that has this on their menu!
