The Perfect Business Travel Gift for Kids

I have something to share with you.

Here’s an idea for those of you getting forward to start another fun year of work travel! When I started traveling for business over 5 years ago, I knew I wanted to bring home a gift for my daughter after each trip.  After all, I remember my dad doing that.  I mentioned it to one of my colleagues during my first trip away and he shared with me a great idea.

Kids love getting something when a parent returns home.  Parents like something that is inexpensive and can fit into their briefcase or suitcase easily.  And if it can be educational, it is at the top of the list.  So, what can you buy that is inexpensive, fits easily into a briefcase or suitcase and can be educational?  Think about the airport gift shop and bypass all the t-shirts(they will grow out of those in a year).

POSTCARDS!

Over the years I have brought home postcards from all the cities I visit and I try to make sure they have special landmarks from each city. Sometimes it has a college, or a sports team. When we go on vacation, we add to the collection.

Now that my daughter is in elementary school, she will soon learn about cities and states and countries and this will be a great way for her to see pictures and ask me about the different places.  All you need is a photo album at home that will hold 5×7 photos!

After you land, grab a $1, take 3 minutes to stop and grab a postcard!
